There's always an endless set of explanations for those who decide to re-record some tracks. It's not common to do it (although it isn't a new thing), and the best way is to deal with the new recordings as the band had some frustrations that needed to be fixed. Maybe it's the case of the UK based quartet INGESTED with "The Surreption II", a remake of "The Surreption", their album released on 2011.

Their music is a recollection of influences from many genres: some traces of Deathcore can be heard in some parts, on others the nasty traces of Brutal Death Metal can be heard, along with Modern Hardcore traces and some Groove felt in some moments. Their mix is intelligent and personal, and the band shows experience to deal with such aggressive music in a proper form: it's nasty and full of energy, but brutal and really ruthless with non-used ears.

The band called the producer Nico Beninato to work with them on the sound engineering, mixing, mastering, and he made the bass programming, orchestras, and samples. But only in the sonority, Nico's work shows its value: clean, defined, but allowing the band to express its music with aggressiveness and weight. It's a very good work, indeed.

The monstrous weight and ominous ambience of "Crowing the Abomination" (very good breakdowns and rhythmic work from bass guitar and drums) and of "Decline" (excellent guitar riffs), the brutal grasp of "A Coming Unperceived" (excellent drumming, with some nice blast beats), the sharp modern Grindcore feeling of "This Disgusting Revelation", the blend between nasty Brutal Death Metal with Modern Deathcore traces shown on "Manifesting Obscenity" (very good grunts and snarls from the vocals), and "The Alpha and Omega" (that is fusing between the songs "Alpha" and "Omega" from the first version of the album) are the ones to be heard for a first time on their work.

For now, INGESTED still have a lot of to conquer, and "The Surreption II" allows them to keep working towards it.
