Fiery Path
Infernal Presence

INFERNAL PRESENCE were formed in 2023, and they are from Weimar, Germany. They are a Black Metal band and release their debut EP. "Fiery Path" was mixed and mastered by Alex Pusch (CANCER VOID; SPEEDWHORE; WARHAMMER) and it has a length of about 28 minutes. The EP is an independent release. The EP starts with the bone-chilling and tension-building instrumental "Into The Obscure", which provides the melodic framework of "Internal Exodus". "Internal Exodus" has a frantic, blast-beat driven start with devastating, classical Black Metal guitar riffing, leading into the mid-tempo verse part. The vocals are growls varying around the medium end of the guttural range. The track develops into a mixture of mid-tempo and fast parts, where the fast parts are accompanied by blast-beat attacks. The melodies are grim with some traces of melancholy. After a short guitar intro, "Tomb Procession" develops into a track at a measured tempo and a sluggish rhythm with powerful to thunderous guitar riffs. The vocals are very aggressive and use slightly deeper growls compared to the opening track. The chorus part is very direct with the simple chorus line. The break slows down and is introduced by blood-freezing guitar parts. It abruptly switches then to the main part at breakneck speed by preserving the main, grim melody.
"Beyond The Blackness" starts with an extended guitar part and a lot of monotonicity, intensifying the darkness of the track. The track transitions into a fast verse part with direct, tight, and aggressive guitar riffing. The pace slows slightly down to mid-tempo for the bridges and the choruses. The melodies are spine-chilling, in particular during the break, which is played blisteringly fast. "Beyond The Blackness" was released as lyric video, and the YouTube link is provided below. "Souls Of Unlight" is a very powerful song with thunderous guitar riffs at a measured tempo and a stomping rhythm. There are hardly any tempo and rhythm changes throughout the track. The melodic framework of the track is grim to say the least, and it is once again intensified by many repetitive sequences, especially during the break. The break also contains strong basslines, which gives the track an additional layer. "Souls Of Unlight" is one of my favorite tracks of the release. The EP finishes with the track "Infernal Presence". The track fits well with the sound of the previous tracks. It is mainly a mid-tempo track with a break that is played at a measured tempo and a sluggish rhythm, driven by the guitars. The guitar riffing is devastating throughout the track, while the vocals utilize slightly higher growls. "Infernal Presence" is a good way to end the EP.
INFERNAL PRESENCE release a decent debut EP. "Fiery Path" is traditional Black Metal with direct and punishing guitar riffs, aggressive growls, and blood-freezing melodies. The songwriting is still a bit unfinished, for example there is still room for improvement for the breaks. The production sounds raw, but authentic. Black Metal fans, who love the classical sound of the 90s, will dig the debut of INFERNAL PRESENCE.
