Love Kills!

Induction

Musically these guys certainly have their ducks in a row. Everything they make fits, sounds about right and has all the hallmarks and qualities that you would expect of a band that makes Melodic Symphonic Power Metal. It has speed, power, and is very easy for the ears and brains.

INDUCTION was originally from Czechia when they formed in 2014, but since then have moved their homebase to be in Hamburg in Germany. That undoubtedly has been done to improve the accessibility for them to the outside world and vice versa. During those twelve years they have worked on perfecting their brand of Melodic Symphonic Power Metal. The result I am currently listening to is their third studio album "Love Kills!". And it sure is one where you can hear that these guys are all very experienced musicians. What is remarkable is that in the current line-up there is no one who actually started the band. The one that has been with INDUCTION the longest is guitarist Tim Kanoa Hansen, who joined in 2017, while bassist Dominik Gusch joined the ranks in 2022. All the others only became part of the band in 2024.

Musically these guys certainly have their ducks in a row. Everything they make fits, sounds about right and has all the hallmarks and qualities that you would expect of a band that makes Melodic Symphonic Power Metal. It has speed, power, and is very easy for the ears and brains. This is another band that makes ready to serve music, so you really don't need time to get used to them. I like them best when they let the speedometer go up a notch, like in "Steel And Thunder". That is when INDUCTION comes to fruition in the best possible way. That's also when I feel that the level of excitement is highest. Or should I say that this song showcases how smooth and licked the other tunes on "Love Kills!" all are, making them become even more middle of the road than they already were, at least in my thoughts and deliberations.

Yes, INDUCTION is a band that houses all good musicians and is really good at writing and performing good music on , but I feel that the too slick production of "Love Kills!" is taking away any of the proper Metal association for me. That is when I feel that I am listening to a band that wants to become big, and will do what it takes to get there. Unfortunately in doing so INDUCTION is prepared to lose the Metal feeling in favour of a production that just doesn't do it for me. But hey, there are loads of people that will love this, whatever I think of INDUCTION  and "Love Kills!". Kudos to them.
