Incantation - Primordial Domination album cover

The Death Metal legends are here to show that they are the masters of this genre, or maybe not. While I am writing this intro, I admit that I have not listened to the CD yet. Incantation are one of the elite Death Metal bands for me and I hope that their new record won't change my opinion about them. It's time! I am now pushing the play button...

Incantation were formed in August 1989, by ex-members of Blood Thirsty Death and Revenant. When almost all of the members left the band to form the cult Black Metal act Profanatica, John McEntee was left alone. Anyway, after line up changes and releases that brought Incantation where they are today, here they are, releasing their ninth full-length album. Let's not forget the fact that they have toured with titans like Krisiun, Behemoth, Mortician, Hate Eternal and many more...

So, I have finally listened to the CD enough to see if I am disappointed or not. To tell you the truth, Primordial Domination is a very nice CD, but it's not the one that would make me wandering if these guys are just mortal human beings or something more. Packed with a classic Death Metal production, this album is something that will accompany you for some time, at least until you find something better to listen to. It is a more than decent album that is full of rotten riffs, speed that also turns into slow rhythms that smell like death and a singer who defines how a Death Metal singer should sing! It's just that it seems too empty. I can't sense that feeling, that violent performance of the songs. Some times I listen to it, it's like they released this album just to add one more release to their discography and nothing more! Other times I want to headbang as if it is a live show! I really don't know. I haven't read any other reviews for this album so far and I really don't care. This is my opinion. And believe me, Incantation are one of the elite Death Metal bands for me and there is no way I could be so severe if this album was good enough to meet my expectations.

If the above don't seem enough to make up your mind whether Primordial Domination is worth buying or not, you can judge for yourselves. Don't forget that the listener is the best judge. I maybe wrong about what I said. The rating below is due to their history and their decent release. Respect!
