Destroyer Of Worlds
I, Apokalypse

Coming to us from the great country of Canada comes I, APOKALYPSE and their freshman release "Destroyer of Worlds". This four piece Blackened Death Metal band is made up of Minos and Marthyn on guitars and vocals, Audeath on bass and backing vocals and Amaruk on drums. I hope you're in the mood for some excellent in your face tunes!
This journey through the blackened pits of hell all begins with "Eschatology" which is a very ominous intro. It's very dark and has what sound like ravens crying in the background. All in all a very bad ass beginning to the album. That leads us into "Of Terror and Torment" which is absolutely sick as fuck. This really reminds me of older BEHEMOTH somewhat. The musicianship on this song is fucking amazing. It builds up and completely kicks you in the face and then backs off giving you a moment to rest. If the entire album is like this, I am in for a great time.
"Destroyer of Worlds" comes in and completely ripped my face all the way off. The first thing that came to mind was holy fucking shit! This is the bands first album and I can hardly believe it. This band has the sound of a veteran band. This is one hundred percent one of the best albums of 2019. Everything about this song is brilliant and this song alone takes the cake. I can't wait to hear what else is in store with the rest of it. "Ripped by Dimension" had me completely on the edge of my seat. This is another perfectly written song. This band is exactly what I have been wanting to hear for a very long time. The way they blend the Death Metal with Black Metal and then even have some "Melodic" parts. I put melodic in quotes because it's still brutal as fuck.
Now comes in "Soul - Scarved" and it's another one that fucking rules. I am starting to make an educated guess that this entire album is going to be amazing. I just can't get over how perfect this album has been so far, especially for a freshman album. All of the vocals and instruments are played well beyond par. This band is in my eyes, up there with BEHEMOTH, NILE and many others already. I will also have to say this album is better than BEHEMOTH'S "I Loved You at Your Darkest". This has everything that album was missing. These guys might just be the next biggest thing to hit the Blackened Death Metal scene. "Black Death" is pretty much an instrumental with a few parts that have a bit of speaking. Do not let that phase you though as the musicianship is still out of this world.
"Leviathan Rise" kicks in where the previous leaves off. God damn if this isn't a face melting song. This song is brutally beautiful and honestly I would say it's a favorite but so far they all are my favorites. If you don't find yourself going nuts during this song, there is something wrong with you for sure! "The Becoming" is completely sick. It's a slower song at first and then like a bat out of hell it kicks in full force. This song will feel like you're being eviscerated and you will like it like the little masochist you are.
The final song on the album is "Flaying Living Disgrace" and it is also the longest song on the album. It builds up for a good minute and a half until it becomes time to destroy your ear drums. From the first note until the last this song is the perfect representation of the album as a whole. I will have to say that although I love every single song on the album, this one is by far my favorite. I, APOKALYPSE have now taken their spot in my heart as one of my favorite bands, as well as one of the best bands around right now. This entire album is immaculate and is one you should be buying immediately. I honestly think they will become one of the biggest metal bands given time to build their fan base.
