Hailing from France is the band HEXAKRATION RITES and their brand new album "Desekration". This album is only five songs long but it makes up for length with sheer force. This band is a duo made up of H.R. on Vocals and Bass as well as C.S. on guitars. If you are into old school Black and Death, this band is for sure to catch your attention.
The first song is called "Overture" which is a little over two minutes long and it's a mixture of chanting as well as some very deep rifts. This song really gave me a sense of dread and remorse. It was truly a great opening to the album for sure. The second song up was "The Alter of Madness". This song was pretty sick. I do wish that the vocals were a little more in the forefront, but I also understand that some bands like to record like this to keep it Trv Kvlt. All in all, I really enjoyed this track.
Next on the list is "Necrotriumph" which is another good song. After giving it a thorough listen a few times, I did find myself liking it more each time. Something that I think would fit this band really well would be a keyboardist to add a little symphony to it. "Blazing Purification" is the second to last track and it's just as good as the previous songs. The final song on the album is "Ascension" which also happens to be the longest track. This song is truly rage inducing and will leave you wanting more. I can picture this song being played live. I guarantee there would be a ton of strobe lights as well as dark red lights everywhere.
This album is really written for the fans of old school. I really appreciated the musicianship on "Desekration" I just feel like it's missing a small piece to the puzzle. I think with more time they will find that missing piece and become a force to be reckoned with. Good job guys, kept up the good work!
