Hellway Patrol - All Myth Shall Fall album cover

Sometimes you come across a band that has you guessing. HELLWAY PATROL is doing just that. No question where they come from, as they are very obviously Brazilian, but for the rest you have to put in some effort, as they haven't provided any information in their promotion pack. And when you search the internet you are re-rooted to Highway Patrol. So, after some deliberation, I found just enough to write my review. In the meantime, I made sure I kept on listening to the music that play on "All Myth Shall Fall".

They started in 2017 and come from Londina, Parana. (Please don't ask me to point out where this is, as I don't have an effing clue!) When we try to look at them musically I deduce the following; you can take a blender and put in some equal parts of TENACIOUS D, QOTSA and BLOODHOUND GANG and give it a proper bashing before pouring the mixture onto a slab of vinyl or polycarbonate, creating "All Myth Shall Fall". And the outcome doesn't disappoint, but also hasn't got me shouting from the rooftops. Just do me a favour, and don't compare the quality of this to the peers named, as HELLWAY PATROL comes up short every time. That is not due to a lack of trying, but has to do with the fact that the songs have no staying power. As soon as the next tune starts you've already forgotten the last one you've heard. That is quite a pity, as the band really tries to be a snake with many heads.

This actually is the debut album of HELLWAY PATROL, after two EP's and a single. The songs are nice, sometimes good, but never with that little bit of extra that will make your hairs stand on end, your ears tingle or your body start to move. I really wish I could say that I did experience all those phenomena, but I just can't. That doesn't mean that this is bad. On the contrary, but it just doesn't do it for me. What I can say is that if you like the bands I mentioned, you might want to give "All Myth Shall Fall" a listen or two. I gave it about a dozen, and to be honest, that is more than enough for me. But, as I am a Metal Mastodon, maybe this is just too much for my old battered Metal brains to handle.
