Hail Of Bullets (Reissue)
Hail Of Bullets
The atrocities of war must be studied and spoken the more one can due the fact that the horrors and cruelties MUST BE KNOWN. People must understand that even with their flaws, democracy and diplomacy are better to see people dying without a cause, just because some insane guys want to check who has the greater dick (they could solve things fucking with each other into a sodomite orgy, but the prefer to fuck people’s lives). This is a good reason for checking this reissue of “Hail of Bullets”, the first Demo/EP of the now gone Dutch Death Metal quintet HAIL OF BULLETS.
Originally released back in 2007, these songs were recorded at Excess Studios and l’Aldila Studios on July 2007 and mixed in August 2007. The sonority is what one can expect from a Death Metal band with a clear Old School Death Metal orientation: raw and aggressive, but defined and understandable. And as guest, here is Dan Swanö on additional vocals on “Ordered Eastward”. And the cover is different from the original one. The music of the quintet is Old School Death Metal in the vein of the 90s, with some good technical care on the rhythms. But imagine a band with guys with names as ASPHYX, BOLT THROWER, GOREFEST, PESTILENCE and others on their shoulders, and it’ll be easier the reason for such set of songs sounds so good to the ears. It’s Death Metal in its most inner features, with massive energy and manic hooks.
The value of songs as “General Winter”, “Red Wolves of Stalin”, “Ordered Eastward” and “Advancing Once More” can’t be easily depicted by words, because as said above, the experience of the band’s members created a massive, heavy and aggressive set of Death Metal pearls with perfect instrumental lines and harsh growls on the vocals. And as bonus, the lyrics seems to be depicting what happened after the failure of Operation Barbarrosa and the try of retake it after the heavy losses of Nazi Germany on the Russian winter and the loss of the Battle of Moscow (January 1942). Learn the horrors of war on “Hail of Bullets”, and it’s a pity that HAIL OF BULLETS exists no more.
