Methods Of Human Disposal
Gravesend
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: GRAVESEND; signed via 20 Buck Spin Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Black Metal/Grindcore, on their debut album entitled: "Methods Of Human Disposal" (released February 19th, 2021).
Since formation in 2020; the trio in question have only this here debut album entitled: "Methods Of Human Disposal", and a Demo entitled "Preparations for Human Disposal" (released June 5th, 2020). 15 tracks ranging at around 27:15; GRAVESEND arrange an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Black Metal/Grindcore amalgamations.
Opening up with this mystifying rhythm of otherworldly intrigue, "Fear City" begins unearthing this swirl on spacious static. Until "STH-10" delivers a rompy rampancy of tribal yet stompy drum hammerings in a timely pattern until a blistering but gnarly frenzy in barraged grinds distil a deadly array of contorted distortion, a groovy but bouncy conundrum in ripping machinations ominously fuels a bludgeoning of the eardrums into a boisterous calamity in crunchy and a bleeding chunk of tight weightiness within this primitively raw spectrum on berserking, but bulldozing flamboyance within this tempestuously trailblazing slab of solid punchiness. The titular track speeds things up with wildly rushing synergies on razor-sharp maelstrom bombardments, engaging a blitzing but blackened aesthetic in extreme executions that will make you want to break chairs over other chairs in no time.
Consisting of S on the audible bass/vocals (Backing)/Synth merges this thunderous yet sulfurous injection in some thumpy yet venomous flickering firepower expertise that jumps with profusely robust meatiness on monstrously piledriving substance. "Ashen Piles Of The Incinerated'' ruthlessly revels with malevolent veracity, vocals soar with raspy throatiness & ravenous gutturals intensely growl while the rambunctious pummels skyrocket with sonically seamless substance while organically throttling with savagely sinister profanity too, where groovy but rumbling reverberation showcases some volatile mayhem near the end.
"End Of The Line" steamrolls with rapidly swift nimbleness, shouty rebellion relentlessly lacerates with killer hostility & concretely gritty foundations in borderline chaos in amplified adrenaline and chugging frolics intensely implode with striking pandemonium that unleash this blasphemously insane dexterity from guitarist A (also onVo Vocals/SSynth). Experimenting a hybrid ferocity in nasty, unapologetic wrath on quirky snappiness & vibrantly potent viciousness. "Subterranean Solitude" utilises this slaying combustion, embodying this quintessential virtuosity in gripping hooks & unrelenting vehemence on aggressive fretworks that thud with salubriously sturdy pursuits where the vocal tribulations shriek with rageful torment.
G on the pounding drums belts a burning but bruising sensation through this clobbering intervention... "Unclaimed Remains" empowers a robotic rift, where an inhumane harvest unravels this outbursting swamp of scattering technicalities where choppy attributes details some sloppier strums that stampedes immediately afterward into a fierce but abominable rampage. Strifing riffs, yelling cords and complexly crafted havoc drills a foreboding essence for you to thrash to. "Verrazano Floater" opens up with this one-two slam, where the maliciously thick strums roll with steely precision. "Eye For An Eye" is a synth shrouded soundscape of electrical ambience, quite memorable within the songwriting structure while remaining spooky for good measure.
"Trinity Burning" is a bulking mid-tempo respite where some industrial elements implement full force carnage, blast beating with pugnacious retribution with violent yet warlike suffocation in an all guns blazing explosion...the longest track on the record, however efficaciously motivating, yet devastatingly crushing. "Needle Park" oscillates with these revolving crescendos, as these outrageous D-beats forges a versatile yet visceral punchline of groove & punishing perseverance. "Absolute Filth" is exactly what it describes on the tin, slick rifts that scours with snarly velocities. While "The Grave's End" continues that stability with strong persistence, where satanic barks evolve with more than jarring & angry heat. Advancing into a climatic penultimate track "Scum Breeds Scum" having crusty but catchy consistency, where the overall titan "Concrete Feet" concludes the record with more radically wicked transparencies that gives off this distinctively distinguished attribute of maximum pulverizations that just make you want to replay this one tenfold.
Bottom line; I am compelled to say that GRAVESEND most certainly delivered an immersively frantic offering of colossal belligerence. "Methods Of Human Disposal" can be considered an album of the year contender for me. This significant stomper had a heavily enjoyable experience that took me by surprise exceeding all expectations I once had, converging Black Metal with Grindcore is a genius idea and it's definitely a discovery that most surely deserves everyone's attention in the Metal universe. Worthy of a dozen spins, or more I reckon.
