Gate Of GaiaBeta

GaiaBeta

Let me start by saying that what you will hear has been done before by many other bands, and GAIABETA has just decided to give the music their own twist. What does help with the musical genre they are playing is having a good and crystal clear sound. In that respect I simply cannot fault anything on “Gate Of GaiaBeta”.

From the info that came with this album: Formed in 2017 in the city of Feira de Santana by vocalist Marcos Diantoni, GAIABETA are a Brazilian heavy metal band. They play their own brand of Epic Gothic Symphonic Heavy Metal and after eight years are ready to reveal their musical abilities to the world in the form of an album. Yes, “Gate Of GaiaBeta” is their debut album and it gives you just under an hour of what this band feels good music should sound like. Now it is my turn to let you know if I feel that they have succeeded in being able to conquer some or many Metal hearts.

So, that should help while listening. What also is no problem at all is the ability of the instrumentalists to play this kind of Epic Gothic Symphonic Heavy Metal in a very good manner. Another tick in the direction of the right kind of appreciation, I would say.

Then it becomes about the songs, but before that, I wish to discuss the vocals. I know that singer Marcos Diantoni is the founder of GAIABETA, to my ears he is also the weakest link. He is not a bad singer, but neither is he an outstanding one. His lack of a proper pronunciation in combination with his very limited range prevents the music to shine. He doesn’t sing in a very high voice too often, but when he does, he sounds it really lets him down. Although I have to admit I don’t think his normal voice is very steady or good as well.

Well, now we come to the music. That aspect of “Gate Of GaiaBeta” actually is quite good. Like I mentioned, it all has been done before, but in the almost 60 minutes these guys play, they have shown me that they are able to write rather competent songs. So, if you are already a fan of Epic Gothic Symphonic Heavy Metal you should definitely give GAIABETA a go. Maybe you don’t mind the disturbance the vocals bring. Unfortunately, I do. That’s why you will see such a low rating on the memorability.
