From the pasta land, FRANCESCO MARRAS arrises to release his new álbum solo entitled "It's Me" thru "Hell Tour Productions". The musical genre played by the artist here is a 70s /80s Hard Rock, inspired by the bands as Deep Purple, Rainbow, Whitesnake and Led Zeppelin. The album also receives as guests Bodo Schopf (drums on second track), Marco "Lord" Cossu - (Hammond, Piano), Marco Garrucciu (backing vocals) and Emanuele Martinez (Violin on track 10). The third Solo Album of Marras evidences his experience in production and mixing by toasting us with a totally clean and nice sound. For those who wants to know more of his work check out for the italian metal band SCREAMING SHADOWS and the new EP from the English TYGERS OF PAN TANG entitled "A new heartbeat".
The opener track is "Money Talks", which brings a beautiful groove demarcated with a good work of harmony. Francesco's vocals are well-tuned and the highlight as a guitarist is obviously the well-worked solos of his main musical instrument. On "Take my hand" the guitar solos shine again, with a very striking chorus, some passage of this refer to the legend band LED ZEPPELIN. Although I didn't appreciate much of the intro of "We Take The Blue Away" with its claps, the rest of the music works fine, by the power imposed on the vocals, about the intro, although it is not stimulating in studio, maybe it can work live. "You Set My Heart On Fire" have a very exciting intro, and swap paces between dramatic and strong riffs, the love song carries lot of emotions. I don't know exactly what the Marras inspirations for "Lady of Ice" was, but I am sure it brought to my mind the beautiful ballads of EDGUY that usually stand out in this question for all the stoning and harmony that can be felt both in the reference and in the execution here.
Next up we find "In The Name Of Rock And Roll", a nice tribute to acclaimed genre following on thru a Germany catch, the song also shows up to the listener a remarkable work on the bass played by Francesco. The addition of Violin notes on "Closer To The Edge" proved to be good choices, the music brings in its groove something very similar to the golden age of the American band BON JOVI, which can be felt in lower intensity in other tracks, but here has a greater presence. In conclusion, "IT's Me" demonstrates a thorough work, concerned with the details of each instrument and how they can fit together making it recommended to all fans of Hard Rock.
