Nightbound
Find Me
“Nightbound” is the fifth album from Find Me is the ongoing collaboration between Swedish songwriter ,musician and producer Daniel Flores (Issa, The Murder Of My Sweet, Seventh Wonder) and Robbie La Blanc (The Blanc Faces, East Temple Avenue).Find Me's debut album “Wings Of Love” with the follow up release “Dark Angel” were greeted with great enthusiasm from Melodic Rock fans and great reviews. The project went on to release “Angels In Blue” in 2019 and in 2022 “Lightning In A Bottle” both touching on the classic Melodic/AOR ,while showing influences from the new guard of Melodic Rock,
“Never Be Alone” is a pleasant opener to this album a cool melodic/smooth AOR track some great clear strong vocals from Robbie La Blanc backed with some great harmonies ,with some really prominent keyboard touches and punchy guitar runs .”Can't Wait Anymore” of course a cover from the classic Survivor album “Vital Signs” with Robbie doing a great job vocally, doing the classic track justice. ”Can't Wait Anymore” has that European Melodic Rock sound to it that winning formula infectious, slick melodies and catchy chorus reminding me of Bonfire and FM. ”Distant Lovers” the guitars are let loose more ,the track has great quality ,edgier ,great guitar solo ,classic AOR which could easily be mistaken for Survivor in their heyday its that good a track. ”Nightbound” is a great title track which shows the diversity of Robbie Le Blanc's vocals which he manages effortlessly. ”Love Always Finds A Way” is that radio friendly big vocals a perfect track for that summer night cruising along in your car ,simple message within the lyrics with that Find Me sound ,sounding fresh but not cliché.
”Speechless” that track for reminiscing about those good time & memories in the past with that nostalgic 80's AOR sound up beat, faster tempo ,more keyboard orientated, ”Walk Through The Fire” is that track that is designed to motivate you overcome those hurdles & challenges we face, that you can overcome hurdles and be successful. It's a very cliché track, nothing new, which I found a bit cringy and cheesy, not a great track for me personally, ”Said And Done” is more a filler track that I found to sound better in the verses, but let down with a weak chorus that lacked the killer punch that previous tracks have., ”Savage Blue” is the closet to a ballad the album has to offer, it has that radio friendly appeal, some great vocals and a superb guitar solo. ”The Time Has Come” has a rockier sound ,faster tempo, which in the chorus reminds me very much of Journey “Be Good To Yourself” but has that more European Melodic sound. excellent vocals backed by great musicians who give it a great quality sound ending the album on a very solid note. Find Me “Nightbound” is a good album very nostalgic and will definitely appeal to fans of Melodic Rock/AOR from the past ..Robbie La Blanc delivers a very solid vocal performance, the musicians who appear on the album do a stellar job, the production is superb. But there are some weak tracks on this album which are just filler tracks that let it down a bit. But on the whole this is a good album but not Find Me's greatest album.
