Fellahin Fall - Tar A-Kan album cover

Formed back in early 2019 we have Brooklyn, New Yorkers FELLAHIM FALL. This is there new release Tar a-Kan which was released in May 2020. With this album they really show their dark, gothic industrial metal with style. The album opens with lead single "A Fading Whisper". The intro gives us this ambient atmosphere to set up the feel. The band then kicks in with dark melodies and lyrics of a tragic romance. Next up is "Rover" with a chorus that really rises. That band also brings the heavy while the synths layers a dark wave over the track with an outro featuring a beautiful strings and piano section.

"My Hollow" opens with a clean guitar and a synth line complementing it. The rest of the band add weight to the chorus. This song has a beautiful middle section with strings and a clean guitar and a lead guitar line that is rather uplifting in this dark feel. "Caught Between" opens with a sense of panic to it. The band then comes in and it builds to a big sounding and catchy chorus. The intro to "That Night" is very dark and gothic. This one has a big chorus and the song builds and lifts you up. A calm middle section that leads to an epic sounding guitar solo is a highlight in the album. With a strumming clean sounding guitar we get "Tomorrow's Mourning" that also has great lead guitar work over that. This is a very sorrowful song but it also has some great sections that gives the listener a real experience in that gothic and industrial style.

As we get to the end of the Tar a-Kan we get "Rover (Isolate)". This is a very stripped down version of the song we got at the start of the album. Very catchy drums and bass and really nice guitar melodies. Sounds like a different song to the other version but still manages to keep that same feel. FELLAHIM FALL have a bit of a TYPE-O NEGATIVE vibe to them. Dark crunch sounding guitars on here. Not a band you would bang your head to but a collection of songs to sit back and take in the experience. The synth and keyboards create a dark presence on Tar a-Kan as the keyboards and synths add a dark wave element while the rest of the band adds that element of doom. I found this a very enjoyable album and really worth checking out.
