The Real Thing

Exiled

, “The Real Thing” is a very solid and worthwhile effort by EXILED. I now am wondering how these guys sound live, as this is the kind of music that should do better in a live setting than in a studio. Let’s hope we get the chance to find out.

EXILED was formed in 1997 in Phoenix, Arizona, when American vocalist John Cason and Bosnian guitarist Erol Emkić joined forces to create a band blending the speed and aggression of Thrash with the Melody of Power Metal. Their explosive sound led to three acclaimed albums released through Germany's cult label Hellion Records, earning a loyal following in both Europe and the U.S.A. After years of collaboration, John and Erol continued EXILED on separate continents—John in the U.S.A. and Erol in Europe. John's final album in 2018 became a lasting tribute before his untimely passing. Today, Erol carries the torch forward, joined by powerhouse vocalist Fabian Morales (Guatemala) and drum machine Miroslav Durlić (Serbia). Their new release, "The Real Thing", is a fierce, melodic, emotionally charged metal assault—fast riffs, relentless drums, and soaring vocals crafted with intensity and purpose. I could have written the first paragraph myself, but as the record company Metal Warrior Records has done that for me, why not use their information. Which gives me the chance to go straight to the music. First off, the production is crystal clear and extremely transparent, giving us as listeners a real insight into every note that is being played and sung. That does make listening to "The Real Thing" quite easy, which makes it rather simple to provide you with the realisation that as far as I'm concerned the mix of Thrash Metal and Power Metal that is being expelled from my speakers is thoroughly enjoyable. I like what I hear. And I could mention a whole lot of bands that this EXILED uses influences of, but I find that it is better if you decide on your own accord. Because the songs on "The Real Thing" are really good, have enough power, body and soul to really make them stand out. You can just hear how experienced these guys are, how enthusiastic they are about playing their music and how dedicated they sound in attempting to give you not only great music, but a good time as well. And by putting all those elements together EXILED has ensured themselves on being the bast they can, whilst we as listeners are treated to beautiful music. And what's more, "The Real Thing" is a very solid and worthwhile effort by EXILED. I now am wondering how these guys sound live, as this is the kind of music that should do better in a live setting than in a studio. Let's hope we get the chance to find out.
