Blind To Reality
Eternal Torment

February 21, 2018
Officially founded in December 4, 2011 ETERNAL TORMENT is a Death Metal band from Australia and "Blind to Reality" is their second EP, released two years after 2015's "Descent into Madness". Right in the essence of great Grind and Death exponents from the United States and Great Britain alike, ETERNAL TORMENT adds a new and different energy to this subgenre of metal by providing an attitude that only coexisting with the world's deadliest animals and some of the harshest environmental conditions can create.
With an extensive arsenal in spite of their young age and short career, the six songs in this EP grant the listener a high quality standard in both production and performance, the song writing, just like in the majority of artists that hail from down under, is generated in an unorthodox manner compared to everything you have heard before, for in my opinion this band as the ones that completely create their own identity with the passing of years, are not afraid to cross the standard of what their musical genre must include, and songs like "Beyond Godlike" serve as living proof of that. Bordering on the kind of material produced by "Meshuggah" which have been dubbed as some as Mathematical Metal for the accuracy of their almost algorithmical riffs and metrics, the tracks on this EP would bring tremendous joy to a live crowd full of Death Metal and gore enthusiasts alike.
The only gap of understanding left within this review I to whom we owe the pleasure of such a well achieved cover art. It is sometimes an interesting feature to keep a little mystery within the production and creation of an album, but what had happened to Derek Riggs, for example, If he had never been provided with the credits of the masterpieces providing an amazing environment as well as the first and main approach for a fan to the band that creates the music to go with it.
A blazing new material for the new generations that deserves to be turned into a full length album as soon as possible, hoping the wind will carry my destiny to the land of Oz in time to catch this act performing live in any of the Australian cities before they go abroad I leave this words to carry on bringing reviews of these promising new bands from all around the world for the Metal Temple, in a great time to be alive surrounded by all sorts of Metal than ever before in the history of mankind.
