"Formed in 2010 under the name ESKIMO CALLBOY, the band has already made plenty of noise in its first decade of existence, picking up newcomer awards, achieving top ten placements and causing a worldwide sensation, but judging by what's been going on in the last two years, that was just the prelude. "Pump It" is the first. It's a song with heavy electronica as well as a varied vocal style...at times cleans and other times harsh. They sound like AMARANTHE on steroids, and the chorus has a Pop quality. "We Got The Moves" is another slick, over-produced song that sounds tough at first, but the heavy electronic elements and auto-tuned vocals make it sound like it was created in a sterile studio. "Fuckboi" more accurately describes this band for me. A female vocalist takes over here, but the "whoas" in the chorus are cringeworthy. The lyrics are R rated, and the music is catchy, but I'm not sure I want to catch what they are peddling.

"Spaceman" is partially sung in another language. Four songs in now and these short blasts of music (or muzak?) are starting to blend together. "Mindreader" features some harsh vocals and energy in the verses, with cleans in the chorus. But these songs are just too short to try to really dig into and rate. "Arrow of Love" could be a single in terms of how it could appeal to today's Pop audience. Again, the band tries to sound tough but I am really struggling to find much to champion here. "Parasite" is the first song that presents a little diversity but ends up sounding like all the others in the end. "Tekkno Train" sounds like a song meant to pump up and audience at a sporting event, and the lyrics are awfully trite and cliché. "Hirrikan" is a very short little song that at least has some of the band's personality in it. "Neon" closes the album, and I'm not even sure what to say any more about this twisted abomination of music.

As a reviewer, I was always taught not to roast a band on an album I didn't like, so I will forgo the many criticisms I could articulate for hours here. I won't focus on the horrible songwriting, the artificial and auto-tuned sounds, the over-production, or the fact that this sounds like video game music for today's hipster youth. As the album progresses, it just blends together into one long nightmare. Many of the songs sound exactly the same and I even question whether or not the band members even write their own music. Although some of it is catchy, to me, it sounds like the sound was created in a pristine studio, with scented candles and air purifiers, and that is where it should remain. It's everything that is wrong in the scene today.
