Ektomorf - Black Flag album cover

It's very nostalgic; when I remember the first time I listened to "Outcast", I couldn't stop wrecking havoc and enjoying those mosh-inducing grooves and breakdowns. Everything after "Outcast" was straight out decent and fun, if not one of the heaviest releases for me. Heck! Even their acoustic album was something enjoyable.

Everyone! EKTOMORF are back. The Hungarian motherfuckers are back with "Black Flag". I damn hope they named it after the Hardcore Punk legends BLACK FLAG, cause they'll gain extra points (and some chocolate cake) in my book if they did. Before I delve into the album's contents, allow me to say that "Black Flag" is a bomb no country should include in their army's weaponry. It's heavy; it'll do collateral damage, and even kill of your own troops. I'm serious, don't give me that smirk.

"War Is My Way", the album's opening track is not a regular EKTOMORF track. It's EKTOMORF showing you how experimental they can be, and well, I love it. They didn't start with their signature groovy riffs, and the variety of minor influences makes this track pretty damn great. With the following songs, they proceed in the same manner, and continue to get heavier, with the grooves ready to snipe you dead at any second.

Zoltán Farkas is strong and sounding like a dragon as always, delivering you riffs and asking you to mosh throughout the whole album. Szabolcs Murvai is busy raping his bass and attempting to level with the rest of the members by slamming those strings as hard as he can. Robert Jaksa is drumming like the doctor gave him 1 more hour to live. And Tamás Schrottner is angry at you for not bobbing your head to this heavy offering the band is giving you.

What else can I say? It's EKTOMORF, they're not gonna shove some solos and weird experimentations up your ass. The album is heavy, it's brutal, and that's something every EKTOMORF fan is asking from the band. Now go listen to this and invite your friends over and mosh.
