From their EPK, "the new DYOXIDON album "The Decaying Multiverse" touches upon horror scenarios involving aliens and other hostile entities, as well as spiritual and philosophical commentaries from a science-fiction perspective. In other words, it uses sci-fi metaphors to criticize our society and how it works." The album has eight songs. "Psychosomatic Harvest" is the first. The opening tones are frightening, and cavernous...almost as if you were floating in outer space, and realize the vastness of the universe. Chaos comes in from there, and harrowing goes from seven to nine. Are there vocals? I can't really tell. If so, they are very low in the mix. "Tempest Nexus" is another black and heavy slab of guitar chaos, bass and drum pounding, and eerie background music. Amidst the grind of the music, I can now hear some of the vocals. They take the back stage, however, so that the music can scare you from alive to dead. "Extinction [Errata]" is a beastly ten minutes, and the hardened Industrial elements come through strong. The music however is so thick and overgrown that finding a discernable pattern is quite difficult. For now, let the evil flow.

"Parasite Communion" is another dreadfully thick song. The drums roll so fast, you can't count the beats if you tried, and the sound is so chaotic, you lose track of time. "Paroxysmal Nova" is another brutally punishing song, but at this point, the songs are starting to sound too similar with one another. "Light of a Cybernetic Sun" again has a similar, pandemonic sound. It almost sounds like someone is being tortured, and one long session turns into another, followed by another, and another. "The Crystalline Void" follows suit, but with a slightly slower pace at times. Again, the sound is very similar, although the pacing does vary a bit. "Spectravore" closes the album. There are a couple different scary sounds in the beginning, but from there, it's more of the same...a thick cavernous sound. Overall, although I enjoyed the sound the album presented, too many of the songs sounded similar. A little variation would go a long way.
