Asymmetrical
Drugs of Faith

To blend influences is something common in the Metal since BLACK SABBATH ignited the spark of the genre with “Black Sabbath”, and the band’s music itself was a recollection of many different influences. It means that puritan thoughts to keep things ‘pure’ is a fallacy, and it’s not only on Metal that things are like this. Punk Rock, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country, Blues, Samba and everything else are sons of mixed influences. And what is delivered by DRUGS OF FAITH on “Asymmetrical” keeps such tradition. Recorded, engineered, and mixed by Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations, and mastered by J.C. Griffin at Lakebottom Recording. Things were done to keep the sonority harsh and aggressive, but with a ‘dry’ outfit to make things understandable, and with sharp instrumental tunes (especially on the guitars). It works in a great way, and fits on what they express.
Chaos, rage and energy is what they deliver with such mix between Grindcore and Rock ‘n’ Roll (with touches of Hardcore and Punk Rock in many parts, as heard on “Desert Eternal War”). It’s not a sin to label it Grind ‘n’ Roll (in a symmetric comparison to Death ‘n’ Roll and Black ‘n’ Roll), based on excellent instrumental parts and nasty vocals (that uses aggressive normal tunes instead of grunts or snarls), because it’s nasty and furious, filled with an aggressive energy, but keeping things funny and hooking on all the songs. It’s impossible to hear and not like their music, indeed. Honestly, prepare your ears, because “Asymmetrical” with reduce them to bloody shreds, and you’ll like the experience! After the intro “Opening”, the chaotic and furious Grind ‘n’ Roll storm unleashed by “Desert War Eternal”, “Drones”, “Microchip”, “Divestment”, “Gas Mask”, “The Void”, “The Next 100 Years”, “Essential” and “Conspiratorial” will make Trump’s wig raise and run in terror! And no weak spots can be found on the songs, because they were sharpened and worked in a form that it’s impossible to resist to them!
If you want to hear something good and unexpected, give a chance to yourself and listen to “Asymmetrical”, and be sure: DRUGS OF FAITH is the next band on your discography!
