On Day Seven He Regretted

All Metal fans - from all genres - should stay away from rigid convictions and ideas, because they confuse everyone. This happens because one say something as ‘Metal should be like this’, and if others tale such words as true, the fans will lose good works - that they would love - because a goofy thought of himself as a doctor on Metal. The Italian quintet DOSGAMOS is one of those cases when ideas and words loose meaning, because “On Day Seven He Regretted” is a surprising release.
Ronnie Björnström (owner of Björnström Sound & Production, who previously worked with MESHUGGAH, PAGANIZER, KROW, TOXICROSE, NIGHTRAGE, CENTINEX, 220 VOLT, BLOOD RED THRONE, AEON and others) made the mixing and mastering of the album, and all worked in a way to grant the band a modern and aggressive sonority (but without saturating the instrumental tunes), but with a defined insight. Everything can be heard and understood without problems.
To simply things, once could say that in a rigid sense that these Italians are a Groove Metal act with a modern Metal vibe on their music. But one can lose that influences from Thrash Metal and Death Metal can be heard on the songs as well, along Math Metal touches and some Metalcore traits, so it’s a blend between genres that sounds aggressive and full of energy. It defies a lot conceptions, then the best to do is to hear and taste their musical work.
“Slay the Mother of All Ignorance”, “Categorical Reprisal”, “Death Obeys”, “Apple of My Eye”, “Raped Feelingly”, “I’ve Rehab”, “On Day Seven He Regretted” and “Indulgence at Stake” are songs that shows a band with a strong personality, all flowing with energy and aggressiveness, but with contrasts with melodic parts and choruses (with some non-extreme tunes in the vocals, that are truly different from the usual tunes on Modern Metal tendencies). It’s clear that in some parts they have a more Modern Metal orientation, on others they play brutal and aggressive, always with a very good technical outfit.
As last words, it must be said that “On Day Seven He Regretted” is just their beginning, so much can be expected from DOSGAMOS.
