The Riders of the Apocalypse strike back with their brand new album! One more challenge for my ears. I don't say this in a bad way. What I mean is that what these guys produce can be characterised as easy listening for sure! The only thing that's for sure is that this band just can't let you down. Their humour is just endless and their releases deflect this clearly.
So, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter were formed in mid 1995 by Fuchs, Volk-Man, Dr. Pest and Skelleton. Skelleton was replaced by Sir G. in 1999 and Pitrone was recruited as a guitar player because of Fuchs's arm injury, something that made him stop playing guitar on stage. After the release of Friede Sei Mit Dir EP, the German weird metallers strike back with one more Metal masterpiece.
Riders On The Storm is the name of their brand new album and for one more time, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter have managed to mix every genre of music that came to their mind. They are indeed one of the most unusual Metal acts on this planet! Here you can find blasts, melodic piano tunes, thrash riffs, screams that turn into growls (I don't know what you think of the singer, but he reminds me a lot of Rammstein's singer's voice) and razor-sharp guitars. I believe that every single track can travel you from hate to melancholy and back. The continuously changing emotions are what attracts me the most. Imagine all of the above combined with their great sense of humour and you have one more Die Apokalyptischen Reiter great album. I don't even want to comment the production because that's something that is always on very high standards. For one more time, heavy as hell!
Anyway, they're a very strange band and you may need some time to get used to their music. My opinion is that you should give them a chance and get a taste of their music. For me, everyone who has already bought the album has done a great choice!
