Time Of Confusion
Demon Angels

He is the shivering voice of passionate Hard Rock music. He can sing as if he's destined to haunt your nightlife. He's charismatic and needs no introduction to those who have occupied their ears with the taste of warm, adoring voices in the 80s. Yes, Robin McAuley is back in action and - even if DEMON ANGELS is not his band - the excitement is high for what he has to offer now.
1998 was the year that guitarist Chris Falco inspired DEMON ANGELS to come to life. Four promo CD albums did appear till 2003, while the band - completed by a somehow 'steady' lineup - offered stuff for two YNGWIE MALMSTEEN tribute albums, too. Still, February 2005 sets the band on fire since this is the time that the trio - Falco, Kirst and Lie - fly to LA for the recordings of their first 'normal' effort. Time Of Confusion sees the collaboration of Robin McAuley (ex-McAULEY SCHENKER GROUP/GRAND PRIX frontman, now vocalist for AOR legends SURVIVOR), as lead vocalist, while he also helped as a producer and composer also. The shootings of the videoclip Freedom - the first single? - completed the hard work for this album and all that now matters is what goes on in Time Of Confusion.
The album can easily be described as an updated version of what McAULEY SCHENKER GROUP did in the 80s (three albums worth - at least - the notice). Positive - but not 'happy' - guitar driven Hard Rock music, with guts and sufficient inspiration for the lovers of the genre. Hard riffs, enough of melody, 'fat' bass/drums and the astonishing voice of McAuley sets things straight. In terms of lyrics, it is glad to see the band dealing with various themes - apart from the classic 'love' ones - while the duration is too petite for today's requirements (only eight tracks). But, who cares?
Time Of Confusion is honest and clear. It is not a 'get it fast!' release but it is applicable for your today's Hard Rock likes. And, yes, McAuley 'upgrades' it with his wonderful voice. He does.
