Dawn of a Malefic Dominion
Dehuman Reign
A very good Death Metal release, indeed.

People must understand that music isn't an ideology, so the musicians are free to create, even when the fans become unsatisfied with things. Such 'ideologies' harden bands that could do better than they show, because such 'ideologies' constrain people. It's not a case of playing this or that, but show your own face, even using clichés. And the German quintet DEHUMAN REIGN seems to understand such words, as heard on "Dawn of a Malefic Dominion", its third full-length.
Recorded and engineered by Tobias Engl and Ulf Binder at Englsound Abyss and Studeio B19, and mixed and mastered by Lukas Haidinger at Deep Deep Pressure Studio, things here show a defined and brutal format of Death Metal sonority, something usual on the past years. And the cover made by Mitchell Nolte is truly great, a fine art with a Death Metal appeal. As guests, here are Lukas Haidinger (of DISTASTE) on the guitar solo on "Post-Traumatic Suicide Syndrome", Sebastian Ankert (of SINNERS BLEED) on the guitar solo on "Preparing Armageddon", and on the intro "The Invasion", here are Vanessa Conrad, Alba Pardo, Anton Fortunato, Mune (of DEATHTOPIA), and Til Pörksen and Apostolos (of RAPTURE).
It would be simple to define what the quintet musically plays: Death Metal. Yes, it's pure and simply Death Metal, played on a traditional form influenced by the titans of the 90s in their most classic moments. But the approach used by the band isn't something moldy or old-fashioned, because they sound alive and brutal, full of energy and able to break bones easily with their music. And playing attention, some conductions are filled with Old School Death/Thrash Metal elements. But's truly very good.
"The Invasion" is an intro, and "Des Geistes Störung" and outro. Between them are truly aggressive blows that will implode your eardrums easily, and "Cursed to Feed on Flesh", "Let Chaos Reign", "Opium", "Inclusio Fetalis", "Post-Traumatic Suicide Syndrome", "Heretic", "The Ancient Enemy", "An Envoy from the In-Between" and "Preparing Armageddon" are fine examples that a modern insight can bring classic Death Metal to a new life, filled with excellent instrumental parts and guttural death growls.
"Dawn of a Malefic Dominion" is what every fan of classic Death Metal could ask for, so listen to it and praise DEHUMAN REIGN.
