Veteran Thrashers, DECEASED release their tenth full length album to pay tribute to the bands that helped them create their musical identity just like they did with "Rotten to the Core" in 2004 and "Rotten to the Core part 2 (The Nightmare Continues) in 2020, now, after almost two years they get to introduce a different and completely Thrash-focused album and title which makes reference (even in the title) to how they and many other Thrashers in the whole world cherished those moments when this subgenre of Metal was blooming in many different area codes, not only in the States, but in places as distant as Brazil with bands like SEPULTURA and SARCOFAGO.

Sometimes it's better to listen to a thrash album than to look at the news just to get a glimpse at what is going on in a dystopian society such as the one in which I sometimes I feel in, the lyrics of the bands that are covered by DECEASED may be the soundtrack of your life from over 20 something years ago, but the times that are running haven't changed in providing material to make many tracks like these today; which signifies how Thrash will continue to live on and even prosper with bands that are so conscientious about to whom they owe respect for being trailblazers in the art of their choice. There's nothing more honorable than paying homage to the ones that came before us which seems to be a value that has been a little underused for the current generations, always so obsessed with innovating.

The undeniably unforgettable "Pray for Death", which was originally released by BLESSED DEATH in 1987 respects the creative insanity with a unique distinction to how once you have heard this song you will never forget it and why it is included as the second track in this vault of Metal Madness; A 45 minute selection to some underground and not that underground bands such as VOIVOID and with a strong presence of Canadian metal which may open the door for a second part just like it happened with "Rotten to the Core" and its sequel a few years ago. This Album stands like an altar to the songs that remain part of both the collective unconscious and the process involved with growing up in an era full of metal. My only regret is not being more familiar with all the bands that are included in "Thrash Times at Ridgemont High" but then again thanks to DECEASED I can take care of that lack of an essential list of what to be aware of, especially as a Metal reviewer in a platform like Metal Temple.
