Deathyard - Creation Of The Universe album cover

Hailing from Warsaw, Poland, comes the Thrash/Death Metal band DEATHYARD and their freshman album "Creation of the Universe". For a band that is just releasing their first album, I have to say they did a great job on it. You have Chris Hofler on guitar and vocals as well as Mateusz Przeniosło on guitar.  Thiago Parrolas plays the bass and Bartłomiej Kurek on drums. It starts with the two minute intro song "In the Yard of Death" which has a creepy vibe to it yet it's beautiful at the same time. It was a wonderful way to lead into the next song. "Fight" which is a really bad ass song to kick it off with. It's very fast paced, energetic and gets slightly technical at points. I really enjoyed this song.

"Destroy All Your Fear" slows it down a bit in the beginning but it kicks into high gear out of nowhere. Oddly enough the vocalist kinda sounds like Wayne Static at a few points in this song. I thought he was great nonetheless and the Power Metal screams towards the end of the song were amazing. "Creation of the Universe" also starts off pretty slow but speeds up the tempo pretty quickly. The thing that really stands out to me on most of these songs are the guitars, not saying the other musicians aren't good, they are just what pop out to me. These guitarists are really talented and obviously that makes for a great album.

"God of Evil" is a really damn good song. It is by far my favorite song so far. Chris's vocals are on point in this song and I absolutely love it. This is more Power Metal than anything and I fucking love Power Metal. "Beyond Real" brings it back down a notch but is still really energetic. The musicianship on this song is beautifully played. The guitar solo is absolutely fantastic as well. This may be another of my favorite songs on the album.

"Master of Souls" is the slowest song on the album as well as the longest. I really enjoyed it a lot. I think that this album needed a peaceful break on it and this was it. It is still pretty damn heavy still. The last song on the album is "Mother Earth" which is a really kick ass song that really rings the whole album together. I personally think this album was amazing all together. I also think that this band has a really bright future and hope to hear more from them. Keep up the great work guys!
