"Destined For Death" was released November 24, 2017 from Dutch death metal band DAUTHUZ via WormHoleDeath Records. DAUTHUZ was formed in 2015 by  Dennis Jak and Hans Bijland. Former member of DISAVOWED, Tim Roper would join later, as would Manoloxx and Nick de Vet. "Destined for Death" is the first full length album for DAUTHUZ, delivering ten old school death metal style tracks.

The menacing title track, "Destined for Death" storms in violently, as a tempest of death metal gore. Heavy riffing, a cavalcade of drumming, and gruff, bellowing vocals will bring to mind images of decay and rot. The savagery doesn't stop there; "Dying Breed" swelters like the hum of swarming maggots in a carcass.  For added brutality, the track features guest vocalist Marloes Voskuil (IZEGRIM).

DAUTHUZ launches another bloody assault with a heavy, bassy sound on "Made in Blood." The track is heavy and thick, but the vocal pattern was a bit dull and predictable overall, and a similar piece can be said for "Killing in the Woods." I'm not so certain what the aim behind the reprisal track was, but it felt a bit like an album filler. Perhaps it's the guitar tone being used, or maybe the guitar parts could have been turned up a bit, but I think I would like to have heard a little more power in the production of the guitar riffs. The vocals almost seem to pop out of the tracks too much.

"Deep Inside Your Soul" started out with an interesting sound, but became dull to me. Things picked up a bit when the guitar solo kicked in, but for me the solo wasn't enough to bring me back. The album finished strong with their longest track "Warmaster." The guitar riffing was thick with a kind of groove to it in the beginning that got right to me. Again, I think that with a slightly different approach to production this track could have stung a little more. Even still, this was my favorite track on the album. The tremolo picking toward the end added ambience.
