"The Puzzle" is the second studio album from DARK SARAH, a symphonic/cinematic metal band from Finland. DARK SARAH was formed in 2012 and released their first demo "Save Me" in 2013.

This albums good, it's really good I expected the metal elitist hidden inside of me to dismiss this album simply for the vocal style but I was very wrong. "Aquarium" is a great example of this. Soft operatic vocals over a mellow piano open the track they are then joined by the rest of the band and metal euphoria ensues. The unique vocal style merges seamlessly with the Heavy guitars and head pounding drums.

"Dance With The Dragon" is an amazing track JP leppaluoto's guest vocals are the perfect match not only for the song but for the atmosphere of the entire album as well. The song plays out as a kind of conversation between "the dragon" (JP leppaluoto) and "Dark Sarah" herself (Heidi Parviainen). It's a very dramatic piece of music and far better than anything I expected any track on this album to be.

"Little men" sounds like if Disney decided to make a metal song for one of their productions. It's rather good and quite catchy however it sounds a little over produced and there wasn't much substance to dig into. I genuinely believe children would enjoy this song I am yet to test this theory out, "Little Men" would be a great song to use if trying to introduce a younger sibling or child to metal as a genre.

"Breath" is a very interesting choice of opening song. I think it's the sound of the sea at the start that makes it seem fitting for the theme tune of a swashbuckling pirate adventure, but maybe that's just me. All jokes aside it is a rather good light on vocals opening track.

All the tracks are interesting and great sounding songs but they are all very similar in style and composition. There's nothing wrong with perfecting what you've got and that's exactly what this album does it just limits the variety in the process of doing so. I would recommend this album to a lot of people for a lot of different reasons and I doubt any of them would be disappointed.
