Dark Funeral - Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus album cover

Once again, the Swedish legion returns with an album with its title written in Latin as every other album they have released (except for their debut one), and an appetite for total destruction! These guys don't seem to plan to relax some time, and I say this in a good way. Their style and most important their speed, will never change! Male and female demons, may I present you the children of Satan, the dark lord's bastards, DARK FUNERAL!

Has anything changed in the DARK FUNERAL camp? I guess there is something different, since Matte Modin is no longer a part of the band. His replacement is Dominator, a drummer who has left his mark with his works with AEON, CHASTISEMENT and IN BATTLE to name a few of his achievements.

Except for the drummer change, which actually happened in 2007, nothing else has changed. The label, the sound, the style, the speed and everything else is exactly the same. Or may I say even better? The metronome is on fire, the guitar melodies rape your ears and Emperor Magus Caligula's vocals still rule the pits of hell making demons shit their pants! To some of you it may seem like I exaggerate a bit, but I tell you, this is one of the band's best works! Everything has been fully worked and this album is examined to its last detail. The Swedish black metallers have managed to overcome themselves with Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus.

DARK FUNERAL may be considered as a false, trendy or I don't know what the fuck Black Metal band by some, but none can deny that they have managed to take Swedish Black Metal, dress it in a crystal clear sound, while still make it sound demonic and inject their own personal style into it creating something that has been loved by Black Metal fans all around the world! And the great thing about these guys is that they haven't featured any groundbreaking elements in their music. It is pure Black Metal and it sounds brutal as fuck! And I will have to agree with something that is written on the promo sheet that came with the CD... This is the band's most technical and varied album to date!

Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus, this is the result if you let of bunch of Swedish lunatics work with another Swedish maniac by the name Peter Tagtgren work in Abyss Studio. My advice is go get it without second thoughts. This hits the top 10 for this year for sure!
