Dark Forest - Dawn of Infinity album cover

Déjà vu... "Is the experience of feeling sure that one has already witnessed or experienced a current situation", that's exactly what I felt after hearing this album. I may be crucified by writing this lines that are plenty different from the good reviews this band had in the past, but, come on, how can I write something good about this?

First of all, you can't find here something that could not be found in another heavy metal band: same structure in the songs, high-pitched vocals, cliché riffs, and cheesy solos, all of this only leading to a total boring repetitive album. Always starting with a simple guitar riff as an intro in any of the songs, then Scott sings and right after that he sings an unmemorable chorus... it happens over and over again in the entire album.

I know I'm just a fan, I'm not a musician or something like that, but as a fan I can say, Dawn of Infinity is not a good album, maybe because they take ideas from any other heavy metal band and try to make it their own, and because I'm just a fucking fan, I can't criticize the musicians, they are a lot better than me in what they do, but that's it, being better than many here who could read this review, there's nothing extraordinary about them, or in the music, It's only another try to enter in the metal world (a failed one I must say).

I'm a heavy metal fan, from the bottom of my heart, but from the same place I could say: avoid this, go listen to the old and good ones of the genre, there are many... and I mean many, other bands that could make you feel proud of the metal music, but regretfully I'll have to say that Dark Forest is not one of them, they may be good musicians (or at least better than some others), but this only will make you feel... nothing, nothing at all.
