Tribulations
Danny Danzi
There are bands that disappear from our sight for a long time, just to appear again and bring something new and fresh. These ones can lose fans from their base, because without information, anyone will think that the band is dead. And if the case is a musician, one can think that time has come to changes on their personal lives. No matter what happened, Danny Danzi (a known American guitarist, producer recording and mastering engineer) is back after 18 years since his past album ("Danziland") with "Tribulations". It's hard to label the work shown on the album. It's a kind of music orientated to be used as soundtracks, because it's accessible for a broader public, a kind of AOR/Pop Rock filled with wonderful melodies, choruses that are almost impossible to forget, and everything created with care on the musical arrangements (but without overloading things to a point that the melodic and accessible appeal would be ripped apart).
Then the best for the listeners is to hear the album and have their own conclusions, but the risk to be in love with the songs is really huge! Obviously, Danny produced the album and made the mixing and the mastering. And everything is sounding great, in their due places and with the right effects to give to the listeners the right idea of what the songs are expressing.
Once could think that Danny would use the album as a shredder that wants to show his technique. No, this idea is wrong, because his skills are shown, but the songs are the most important (and Joe and Guy playing are great as well). But for a better idea of what "Tribulations" is about, pay attention to "Accountable" (a strong and catchy song with great guitar riffs and solos, and a good set of accessible melodies), "Don't" (very good contrasts between cleaner and distorted parts, with good vocals), "Carry Me Back" (a modern Hard Rock song, with abrasive guitars, but showing a massive groove coming from bass guitar and drums), "It Is What It Is" (this one is an accessible Pop Rock song from the 80's, but with a modern outfit, with very good vocals and backing vocals), "Cold, Hard & Dangerous" (a Hard Rock song with a Stoner Rock outfit, filled with energy and charming melodies), "Hangin' On" (that has a touch of Country Rock on its melodies), "Restitution" (a massive Rock 'n' Roll song with tons of weight, and another very good moment of bass guitar and drums), "Help Me Out" (another song filled with modern Hard Rock influences), and "Forever". These ones will give the fans a great time, and will show to others what's Danny and his comrades are about.
In the end of all, you can hear "Tribulations" and enjoy a good time. For now, Danny Danzi is delivering very good music.
