DANIEL TRIGGER is a band / solo project from the West Midlands, United Kingdom. The singer Daniel Trigger, back in in 2003, formed the band TRIGGER with his wife Sally. They released 5 albums - "Call To Arms" (2005), "Fight The Machine" (2006), "Dawn Of A New Knight" (2007) "Furious Times" (2009) and the fifth, and new, album "Infinite Persistence" was recently released with brand new material.
"Promised Land", my personal favorites, is one catchy tune, especially its chorus. Nice guitar riffs & the unique duo vocals of Sally & Daniel. This is a memorable melodic track, highly enjoyable with also a fine appetizer in the image of the great lead fretwork. "Alone Tonight", is my second pick, with an intro of keyboards which took me to the classic BON JOVI song, "Runaway". Truly this is an example of a great comeback to older time filled with catchiness on all counts, great guitars, drums & bass and of course the fine vocalic venture. "Breathe Again" indulges placid keyboards / piano while Daniel's singing voice reminded me of a mix of the late Freddy Mercury (QUEEN), Klaus Meine (SCORPIONS) and Tobias Sammet (EDGUY). After this sweet intro and verses, the chorus comes out strong with hitting riffs and cool melodies, a classic guitar solo, just a time to relax & forget about everything. The opener, "Sell My Soul", smeared with a bright keyboards sound, durable guitar riffs, punching drums and powerful vocals, took back to old 80s Hard Rock.. "Losing my Faith" shares the same appreciation, matching its efforts with a clear, strong and melodic vocal for the forging of brilliance. The riffing seemed similar to WHITESNAKE. On "Rain", a soothing track for a rainy day to charge up the mood, there is a cool mixture of harder and laxer moments, catchy melodic chorus with tough riffing. The vocal line has qualities of a weird assortment of Klaus Meine (SCORPIONS) and Dexter Holland (THE OFFSPRING). This is an awesome song to listen over and over. "Gemini" continues the jouerney with great hooking vocals but on a Bluesier tones with an occasional fast paced drumming picturing the tracks as Heavy Metal oriented with a pretty good performance by the musicians, just listen to this great guitar solo. "One Way Mirror" seems a bit progressed with its riffing and rhythm section. "Synthetic Celebrity" another catchy tune by the book producing nasty riffing with followed by great vocals. When Sally Trigger sings "fight fight fight for this love" it sounds similar as in in the byword of CHERYL COLE. "Lay It On The Line" is a more riff oriented DEEP PURPLE like tune, there are groove rhythms, hard riffs and fine vocals. "Pendulum" screams Heavy Metal with a SAXON pattern with fantastic Power Metal speeding. "Last Breath", a ballad, an amazing song dedicated to Daniel's son with text "I love you my son", very BON JOVIish.
In my opinion DANIEL TRIGGER is fabulous band, but unfortunately not many heard about it. Right from the first time I enjoyed to what I listened. The album is very well produced Musicians play perfectly, Daniel has great tone of voice and duets with Sally sound totally amazing. These 12 songs on the album are catchy and modern oriented. The Briton touches implement the spirit of the late 80s along with the harmony & melody with stronger kick ass points. It is easy to recognize the passion behind the making of this album, and it would be great to hear more.
