Damnation Angels - Shadow Symphony album cover

The passion and the dedication to music from some new bands are to be envied, they are not satisfied with being humble and starting slow, they wish to take the world by force and make their music and name known to the Heavy Metal fans. The only one to prove them wrong in their attempt is time itself.

DAMNATION ANGELS is such a band, young, talented and ready to leave their mark in the Heavy Metal scene. Shadow Symphony is their first, self released EP. And it's filled with great promises DAMNATION ANGELS are apt students of the symphonic Metal genre and throughout the 6 songs one can recognize influences from early RHAPSODY OF FIRE and KAMELOT, influences that have been taken and given a personal touch by the band creating a sound familiar yet new. The first thing you notice by listening to Shadow Symphony is the great vocal abilities that Lewis Starfire has, his voice is clear and powerful from the lower levels to the highest pitches and one can follow the lyrics easily. Lewis sings as if he was meant to sing symphonic Metal and along with the rest of the band the whole album sounds as if it comes from a band that plays music for years.

Another powerful aspect of Shadow Symphony is the guitar; Maestro is a very good guitar player who is able to create powerful riffs and great solos but also has the ability to restrain his virtuosity so as not to sound excessive. Drums add to the power aspect of the album and enhance the overall sound and keyboards are responsible for the beautiful symphonic parts ever present to support both the vocal parts and the music parts. Overall production is very good for a self release; the listener can hear all instruments and vocals without any of the instruments overlapping to the other.
DAMNATION ANGELS have all the abilities of a great band to be, time will tell as always; fans should look them out. DAMNATION ANGELS might not bring a change to the genre but they bring the freshness of the new band, a band filled with passion for music.
