Eternal Decay
Daelkyr
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: DAELKYR; independently unsigned, hailing from Turkish grounds - performing Black Metal, on their debut EP entitled: "Eternal Decay" (released March 24th, 2020).
Since formation in 2018; the duo in question have only this here debut EP in their discography so far entitled: "Eternal Decay". 4 tracks ranging at around 18:42; DAELKYR arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Black Metal developments. "As The Fog Rises" begins this maddening ritual of speedy yet extreme Black Metal manifestations; right off the bat, a borderline foundation of punchy firepower & amplified adrenaline merging this mesmerizingly majestic fortitude of boisterously bouncy ferocity rushes to your eardrums...while shredding profusely robust maelstroms of rawly rough & primitively raw ramifications. This misty landscape of lacerating mayhem, builds a chaotic aura...frantically creating a blistering barraged frenzy of ominously meticulous distortion fuelled to the brim as the sound production rifts with monstrously meaty craftsmanship and an atmospheric conjuring, distilling flamboyantly dynamic virtuosity... that quintessentially portrays quirky snappiness with vibrantly vicious technicalities.
Consisting of the Serpent on bass/vocals; the frontman excels at a audible aesthetic of thumpy bass harmonies, rumbling with a groovy execution and a seamlessly sonic attribute as his hasty ability to strum with organic substance marks with tight yet trailblazing piledriving. The titular track forges a chunkily crunchy demonstration of outrè panache, punishing with razor-sharp yet wildly rushing thunder & solidly volatile pandemonium. Ruthlessly injecting infectiously venomous vocal performances that bleed into high-pitched snarls, throaty yells & mandatory yet guttural growls distribute with weighty raspiness while persisting subtle perseverance. These pipes showcase extreme aggression, agonizing but bludgeoning blasphemy while wonderously composing a blackened stampede of salubriously rampaging nimbleness.
Kaulfel on guitars embellishes experimental elements, implementing immersively inventive hymns that supplies uniquely versatile vehemence & rip-roaring skill. Detailing a dominating flair of strong; melodic riffs, while striking with rambunctious drum hammering from an unknown member. These battering drums have a metronomic rhythm to it, impressively converging catchy patterns with pummelling variety. "Grey Inferno" quakes with this hybrid dimension of reverberating mass of what seems to be like demo-esque flavours; which sounds unpolished (as it should with old-school, Scandinavian Black Metal) but fluidly droning, grinding with prodegiously prestigious bitterness and a cold but dark diligence of mellifluously melancholic terror. Pumping out oozing jumpiness with this short spoken-word chant from the graciously fiendish gods themselves; after assembling a skyrocketing tremble with rapidly swift, yet steely subjugation...romped up with this monolithic yet pulsating precision.
Overall concluding "Eternal Decay" with the finishing deliverence: "The Ritual Of Existence" which offers more tenaciously serviceable thrashiness; DAELKYR provide a clearly euphonic expression of moody vibes that juxapose this transistional yet killer influence of the second wave of Scandinavian Black Metal...I discovered a band that probably won't be for everyone; but I certainly had a enjoyable experience, blasting to some hellishly devilish yet tormenting Black Metal that enriches a foreboding slab of ruination and devastating potential. This talented duo could do well with the next full-length release, they just need to polish the production up a little more than usual for a more pleasing process of sulphurous musicianship memorability. The songwriting is consistently standard though, so definitely go and give it a spin... it is an intense listen Black Metal fans of this sub-genre will surely relish in...check it out.
