Critical Extravasation - Morbid Existence album cover

CRITICAL EXTRAVASATION is a Death and Thrash Metal band from Moscow, Russia. They are signed to Redefining Darkness Records and were founded in 2018. They're main lyrical topics are of death, war, and inner struggles. They share the likeliness of band's such as DeathGruesome, and Pestilence. Their debut release "Morbid Existence" is a four song EP that was released on April 5th of this year. I really enjoyed this album. It had a really filthy sound. Which is a compliment when talking about death metal. The EP is about twenty minutes long, and I have to say... I was really hoping for more. I'll be sure to check back on these guys for further releases.

The first song is titled "Primal Rage/Sick Minds". As soon as it started, I got a big Death vibe from it. From the tone of the guitars, to the style of the opening riff. It's fast paced and absolutely rips. Wait for the riff at about 1:18 in the song. It's super catchy. Around the three minute mark, it's kind of strays into a little different territory with a change up in vocal style, a guitar solo, and bass lead. The song then returns to it's original riffs and vocal style. The second song "Dismembered" begins with a sample audio of Jeffrey Dahmer's voice, which happens to be quite fitting for the song title. You would agree if you are familiar with Jeffrey Dahmer. This song has pretty much the same sound and motive as the first. It's another fast paced ripper with very audible bass. Thinking about it, the bass kind of reminds me of Necrophagist at times.

"Body Count" is the third song on the EP and is also a MORGOTH cover. MORGOTH is a Death Metal band that was formed in 1985 in Germany and are signed to Century Media Records. They have had a great many released over the span of their lengthy career. It's a very solid cover. With the production style of this album sounding old school, the cover and original song sound similar in a way that it sounds like it came from the same era. The fourth and final song on the EP is called "Mental Prison". This song is more thrashy compared to the other three. It reminds me a lot of SKELETONWITCH. Which is totally fine to me, being a big SKELETONWITCH fan. This is my favorite track on the EP. I really love the speed and aggressiveness of it. This finalizes a completely enjoyable EP. I'm really looking forward to a full album release from this band. They're very fun to listen to. I was left wanting to hear more. I will also add that the album art is really cool, and unholy.
