CRAZY LIXX is a Glam Metal band from Sweden has been around for more than 20 years. They actually formed in 2002, but to then the year 2003 was their real start date. Since then they released seven albums, the first in 2007. Now, to celebrate their 20th anniversary, they have decided to release a sort of compilation album, and thy have named it “Two Shots At Glory”. With a difference , though. CRAZY LIXX has added two new songs and rerecorded the others. Whilst listening to this it becomes very apparent that there is one thing you can be sure of; you will feel the need to party and go wild when you listen to all these songs.

Like I mentioned, “Two Shots At Glory” houses two new songs. They are the opening track and title song “Two Shots At Glory” and the third song “Invincible”. And it has to be said, they are very well written, played and recorded. They will both be hits when played live. What also is very clear when you listen to CRAZY LIXX is that they love the harmony and backing vocals that DEF LEPPARD used on their “Hysteria” album, as all of them on this compilation album have that kind of atmosphere. Is that right or wrong? Let’s just say, because they fit in perfectly with the songs, it is exactly right.

I need to mention the song “Sympathy”, as up and until now this was a non-album track. I feel it deserves to be on “Two Shots At Glory”. Of course you will find a cover as well, from BONFIRE to be exact. “Sword And Stone” has been given the CRAZY LIXX treatment, and fits in well, but it is the heaviest song on this piece of polycarbonate. The rest of the songs are from the albums; five from “Riot Avenue”, one from “New Religion” and one from “Crazy Lixx”.

All of this put together makes up “Two Shots At Glory”, and if you are not known with CRAZY LIXX, this album is the perfect way to get to know and enjoy their music. Because one thing is for sure, if these songs speak to you, you will be looking for all former records. That’s how music works, and the addictive qualities of CRAZY LIXX on “Two Shots At Glory” only enhance that feeling. I can only say; go for it!
