Cornerstone may be a new band in the melodic Metal scene but its members are well known contributors to the scene. This band is mainly constituted of Steen Mogensen of Royal Hunt and Dougie White, ex-singer of Rainbow.
What they both play in Cornerstone is far different both from Royal Hunt and Rainbow. In a few words I'd name it something between simply melodic Metal and AOR. All the songs are mid-tempo, except Gift Of Flesh which is a bit slower. All the songs are very beautiful, easy listening, very melodic and with 80's retro touch. The keyboards play a lead role along with the guitar, and the drums keep a discreet beat.
A collection of many beautiful songs, from which I can't choose a song over another. Just listen to those magnificent melodies of songs like Gift Of Flesh, I'm Alive and Jungle. A must for those who want to listen to something softer (be careful! Not ballads!) than usual. A good and successful experiment for those two guys.
