Constantine - Aftermath album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: CONSTANTINE; signed via Rockshot Records, hailing from Greek grounds - performing Melodic/Progressive Metal (shred), on their 2nd album entitled: "Aftermath" (released May 31st, 2019).

Since formation in 2010; the soloist in question have 2 albums in his discography so far, I am introduced to the 2nd album entitled: "Aftermath". 8 tracks ranging at around 33:18; CONSTANTINE arranges an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Melodic/Progressive Metal amalgamations. Featuring a vast supergroup of guest appearences; Constantine himself develops an impressively immense lineup of amplified adrenaline, boistrously bouncy crunchiness & rocking virtuosities that ultilize versatile vehemence with uniquely quintessential musicianship, "Bushido" begins the record - conveying as a blistering instrumental as the frontman demonstrates a barrage of flamboyantly composed frenzies of riveting riffs that thunder with shredding proportions.

Consisting of Bjorn ''Speed'' Strid (from SOILWORK); on the next song: "Hellfire Club", who consistently delivers clean pipes of rawly rough ramifications - using his own signature trademark of harmonic lungs of concrete gnarliness. The guitars gallop; chug & frolick with frantically complex dexterity, while the drums and bass inject audibly infectious battering in which both hammer with hasty fretwork & a blazing etiquete of tapping-arpeggio solos make this an interestingly fashionable style of prominently primitive yet technically progressive manifestations. "Press On Regardless" includes Ralf Scheepers from PRIMAL FEAR; who screams with operatic yet vengefully varied potential, showcasing salubriously tenacious talent. Engaging on dynamically diverse diligence, and a healthy dose of both formulaic & constructively distinguished elements.

"Another Day" showcases Apollo Papathanasio from currently in SPRITUAL BEGGARS & FIREWIND; who provides more meticulous ramifications, singing with profusely robust substance while transistioned with rapidly swift nimbleness & sonically seamless stability. Executing hardened hymns; fluidly polished persistency, that is fuelled into a fierce fabrication of firepower & expertise. "Holding On 'Til The End"; (with Chris Clancy (from WEARING SCARS & MUTINY WITHIN on lead vocals) is an anthemic rocker, relentlessly paced with catchy captivation & snappy quirks that results with razor-sharp speed –  wildly rushing skills & subtle pursuits of rambunctious perseverence. "Deliver Us" includes another helping from Apollo; crafting gnarly blends of tight symphonic weight, juxtaposed with killer jumpiness & rip-roaring rage that shines with prestigously experimental embellishments.

"Elegy" portrays melodious keyboard fragments; converged with Bill Manthos' contribution on lead vocals too, an adroitly splendid track that subjugates with rhythmic grooves & excelling aesthetics in which revolve around detailed attributes of enlightening finesse - culminated into a borderline foundation of punchline yet modernized traditional metal, and neo-classical hooks for good measure. Overall concluding "Aftermath" with the finale: "War And Pain" which has Schimer from DESTRUCTION written all over it; it is a belting conclusion, fusing everything metal (including thrash) in one neat package. This one in particular is easily repeatable, (at least it is for me). The songwriting is original; just not so memorable, the bottom line silver linong is that if you have an interest of any of these members - this should win you. Constantine certainly outdone himself here, and it shows that Metal will never die.

Favourite track: "War And Pain".
