COLD FEET CONTROL are one of the bands emerging into the spotlight in the recent rise of bands in the metal core genre. The Finnish sextet has released its third EP "Tales Of The Broken Hearted Part II" through Inverse Records.
This band is obviously for fans of WE CAME AS ROMANS, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and ASKING ALEXANDRIA, the two vocalists Denis Hautaniemi and Mika Lahti have an obvious wide contrast between their vocals. The screams of both vocalists sound excellent and have raw power in them but the clean vocals can sound quite weak at times.
Opening track ''Appreciate It'' has great melody and the drumming from Jeri Ketola is at its best. Though the track is great, it is a very standard metal core track. ''Despise'' kicks in with power, vocals from both vocalists are on top form here, it sticks out extremely in the E.P as you can feel the anger in the lyrics. If you're angry at anyone, take your anger out to this track. ''Hold the Thought'' has the most electronic parts in all of the E.P but it is enhanced by the wonderful piano parts which make it truly unique, this is a song what makes you want to start a mosh pit in your bedroom, easily the best track.
''Sacred Lies'' begins with a synth part then kicks in with ground breaking guitars and bass of Tommi Dahl,Juuso Bergdahl, and Mikko Keranan. The chorus is very weak but the rest of the song has very emotional lyrics what fits in with the break downs. The track really shows how skilled they can be with the synth and how they make it work. The closing track of the E.P ''Walk On The Edge'' showcases how the band can really get to grips with their creativity and make something as heavy as they can go. This song is very strong with the vocals, the growls are perfect. A lot of dub step elements have been added into this track which doesn't exactly fit but still works.
Will this EP be as successful as ''Shake It, Shake It!''? Yes, yes it will. This band obviously knows how to capture the audience; these deserve to get as big as ASKING ALEXANDRIA and THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA because they have obviously used all the creative talent they have got.
This is an EP that will grow on you for sure, as soon as you hear ''Despise'' you are hooked.
