CHEMIA are a Progressive Rock band from Poland, now based in Canada and was founded in 2011 by guitarist / songwriter Wojtek Balczun.
"Ego" opens the album in a blaze of guitars, quickly settling into a kind of Hard Rock Blues stroll. The first single off the album "Bondage Of Love", is a foot tapping Rock song with catchy guitar riffs and sing a long chorus while "B52" slows the pace down mixing classic Rock with Blues. "Hero" is a fine ballad, with some great keyboards' playing and a really soulful vocal performance.
The curiously titled "Fuckshack" is up tempo and upbeat with "Everlasting Light" nodding its head back to the good old days of Rock. "Generation Zero" flies by with lots of catchy guitar riffs and foot tapping moments. Lighters are raised in the air for "Stalker" with hands raised in the air for "Happy Ending" as it chugs by, with "Walking Away" a steady meander through classic Rock.
"Fire" is a foot tapping Rock song with some great guitar work, with "Sweet", the heaviest song on offer here, an excellent example of classic Hard Rock. Bonus song "Letter" with its keyboards and very soulful vocals, ends the album with visions of candles lighting a darkened room.
Overall, an album full of well written, well played, blues tinged classic Rock, with some lighters in the air moments and some very good foot tapping Hard Rock.
