Vengeance Evangel
Chaos Inception

The North American Death Metal has deep roots in Thrash Metal, D-Beat Hardcore and Black Metal - because these were genres in evidence when Death Metal was being conceived, heard on the works of acts as POSSESSED, DEATH, MASSACRE, MASTER and others on those days of the first half of the 80s - and sometimes such influences become evident along others. On CHAOS INCEPTION new full-length, “Vengeance Evangel”, some of them are clearly heard.
Andrea Petucco made the mixing and mastering of the songs at MSTR Sound Studio, and the result is a brutal and aggressive sonority that allows a Death Metal band express its ideas in a traditional way. But at the same time, it sounds defined, or in other word, in a way that everything can be deeply understood. And making things even better, the artwork of David Glomba (cover) and Nethertemple Designs (illustrations) is truly great, showing that it’s a Death Metal release.
In some ways, the work of the band can be faced as a form of traditional Death Metal in the vein of DEATH on “Leprosy” and “Spiritual Healing” days, but with extreme fast tempos with furious blast beats (but the band knows how to use slow tempos as well, as heard on he short instrumental song “La Niebla en el Cementerio Etrusco”) and sharp guitar solos (that are in the traditional ways of the genre, but using Jazz-like traces). The result is a form of Death Metal that can be said as traditional, but full of energy and personality, and be prepared by its extreme musical hooks.
Chaotic and charming, the 11 songs of “Vengeance Evangel” sounds as blow of a wrecking ball in the ears. And listening to “Artillery of Humwawa”, “Falsificator”, “La Niebla en el Cementerio Etrusco”, “10,000 Dead by Pincer”, “Vengeance Evangel”, “Ultima Exitium”, “Reckoning of the Blade”, “Thymos Beast”, “Empire of Prevarication”, “The Omegaddon” and “Tusk of the Black Sow” is a very good experience, because the band has a lot to say, mixing a very good technical level with charming Death Metal hooks in a full aggressive and chaotic assault.
If you’re into Death Metal, “Vengeance Evangel” is a ‘must-have’ item. And let’s hope that CHAOS INCEPTION will not take a very long time until its next release again (they took 12 years between “The Abrogation” and “Vengeance Evangel”).
