CAELI are a hard rock four-piece hailing from Linköping, Sweden. The band formed in 2019, releasing their first two promotional tracks "Mary and Jane" and "Rip Out" three years later in 2022. Following this, CAELI's debut studio album "Tied Together" was released on June 17^th, 2022, via Pure Steel Records.

The first track on the album is "Antidote", which is a fully instrumental piece. It is beautifully played throughout, leaving me intrigued for what's to come on the release. "1919" is up next, which starts off well with a memorable, punchy guitar riff. When Marthina Sjöström's vocals kick in, the song evolves into something I most definitely haven't heard before. Sjöström's voice is just captivating, whereas the song is just a bit bland. "Rip Out" is similar to the last. Even though the instrumentals are fantastic, the song just isn't memorable in the slightest. "Mary And Jane" contains a head bopping riff as an introduction. At this point in the release, it just seems like all the songs are blurring into one. Title track "Tied Together" is up next, with an infectious riff leading the way. This song contains one of the best choruses of the album so far; worthy of title track status, that's for sure. "End of the Road" seems to discuss the end of a relationship, with Marthina Sjöström's powerful vocals doing the talking all the way through. Even though it starts slow, it picks up the pace further along. This is definitely one of the best songs on the album to date.

"Caeli" is another instrumental number, which only comes in at 51 seconds. It is a pleasant interlude, gearing me up for what's next. "Heaven is Calling" begins with a stomping rock guitar riff, before evolving into something truly sensational. "Reborn" lets drummer Martin Anthony Ekman have his time to shine with an impressive drum solo at the start of the track. A distorted, fuzzy riff then creeps in, keeping me entertained. "Thunder and Lightning" leaps straight in with Sjöström's notable vocals. Unexpectedly, a riff seeps in that seems to be inspired by bands such as ROYAL BLOOD and FRANK CARTER AND THE RATTLESNAKES. The final track on this release is "Multicoloured Sound" which is very similar to the rest. I expected a lot more from the closer of this album, but unfortunately it just didn't deliver as it should.

Overall, CAELI's "Tied Together" was not a solid effort. You can really tell that they are early into their musical career, as this album just lacked character and memorability all the way through. I was expecting way more from this band, but they just didn't knock it out of the park this time round.
