Burn - Ice Age album cover

AOR and Hard Rock seems to be genres that will never die. A fusion of both musical genres, or even if they are apart one of the other, have a great capacity to adapt to new times. Of course that Grunge rock from the 90s gave a blow on them, but they are back. Some great albums are being released again. UK's band BURN is here with their latest album, "Ice Age", and it's one of these albums, so crank it out loud!

They play a modern and heavy blend between Melodic Hard Rock with AOR and Glam Metal influences. But if they play like an 80's band, with the same charming melodies and binding energy, they use a modern outfit that is amazing. But don't pay attention to these details, and let yourself be seduced by their melodic and easy to assimilate musical work, filled with excellent melodies and great choruses. By the way: it's excellent! The band took five years to make "Ice Age", so you'll hear that they did the things in a way that is almost perfect on the production. It's amazingly clear, but with those essential touches of musical weight. The choice for a modern outfit here is a wise decision, because the songs are sounding alive and full of a young energy.

To be honest, they did a great work on writing these songs, so "Ice Age" can be a hit to you all. The seductive melodies and great arrangements of "Irontown" and "Jealousy" (both presenting great solo guitars and amazing vocals), the heavy and modern embodiment of "Hate", the melodic ballad with that Country Rock influences shown on "The Girl Who Wanted Everything"(great acoustic guitars), that nasty and charming heavy energy of the 80s that fills "Live Again" (here, bass guitar and drums show a great playing, indeed), the modern and abrasive weight of "20/20", and the excellent harmonic construction that they made on "Ice Age" can be the first ones you need to be introduced to the album. But "Ice Age" is a great album, so hear it from the beginning to the end.

Listen to it and love it, or be left behind!
