Bloodstained - Greetings From Hell album cover

Bloodstained was formed in the year 2000 by drummer Agelos Tsoukalas, who is a veteran drummer and has played with well-known Greek bands like Phantom Lord, Power Crue, Vice Human etc., when he met with singer Theodoros Gourlomatis and Giorgos Kalavrezos that were both ex-Secret Show members.
With the addition of the bass player Stavros Aivaliotis they accomplished the first step of their ongoing successful route, by recording a five-track demo that was shopped around to various record labels and eventually landed them a deal with Cult Metal Classics Records.
Greetings From Hell is a good Power Metal album, coming from a Greek band with mature musicians. For sure it's something extraordinary for the Greek standards, something new and fresh and you know what? It doesn't sound Greek at all. Very cool feeling, strong guitar riffs, massive bass and hellish drum rhythms combined with typical Power Metal vocals.
You can hear some very good tunes, such as Smash Your Heads, Burn The Sky, Greetings From Hell, Sacrifice and Related to Danger. Fast, aggressive at some points with catchy vocal melodies and superb lead guitar solos. They do have some mid tempo tracks as well, which are more enjoyable than their faster songs. That's because of the epical feeling that they create during those songs.
I have to mention the amazing cover artwork made by RAM and the booklet as well, just fantastic. Greetings From Hell is a very careful release indeed, having nothing envy from the leviathans of the kind. I only wish for a better production, it's clear but not as powerful as I would like it to be. Bloodstained proved that there are some worthy Power Metal bands in the domestic scene and I wish them good luck with their career.
