Bleed Like Mylee - Nuk Soo Kow album cover

BLEED LIKE MYLEE are a five-piece metalcore group from Austria. They initially promoted their upcoming debut extended play release with the single "Kiss of Death" in July this year. Subsequently, BLEED LIKE MYLEE revealed their first EP "Nuk Soo Kow", which was released on August 12th, 2022, independently. The first track on the EP is "Kiss of Death", which starts off with a thundering metalcore style guitar riff - so addictive! Once Joseph Izayea's fantastic vocals kick in, you are instantly hooked. The riff melodies sound like ATTILA. Next up is "Now Kiki Even Too". Joseph Izayea's vocals here sound very similar to BLACK VEIL BRIDES' Andy Biersack. The guitar riffs are addictive and memorable throughout. This is certainly my favourite song on the EP to date!

"Kick the Tree" starts off on a slow note, with an impactful riff at the helm. However, we are soon treated to some insanely heavy instrumentals, which are just perfect. By this point, I am quickly realising how talented this band are, with Joseph Izayea's vocals being the ideal fit. "Stone City" contains a spoken word segment right at the start, grabbing my attention right away. Within a second, we are back to BLEED LIKE MYLEE and their distinctive sound. By the time I get to the final track "Nuk Soo Kow", I feel ready for more. The chanting style introduction is intriguing to say the least. However, this song is a little underwhelming, unfortunately.

"Nuk Soo Kow" is a pretty decent metalcore compilation. I wouldn't have thought that this is their first ever official release. The instrumentals are just impeccable from start to finish, not to mention the vocals. However, I feel like they could improve on making their future songs a little more unique to make them fully stand out in the crowd. Saying that, BLEED LIKE MYLEE are most definitely on their way to bigger and better things, that's for sure!
