AVALANCHE are a 4 piece band from Western Sydney, Australia. The band comprises of 3 men & 1 woman. The band formed only last year in 2018 and in May 2019, they have released their debut EP "Sent From Hell". This is an 8 song EP with a good old Rock n' Roll metal kinda feel to it. When the band first formed last year, they would practice playing together in a steel works factory after the work force had gone home for the day. This shows the band were determined to create together no matter where. AVALANCHE aspired to be like the bands they themselves idolised and played cover versions of AC/DC, STEVIE WRIGHT & ROSE TATTOO. Soon after they started to play local smaller gigs in pubs and clubs playing a couple of set every week. This was well received by the crowd and they went on to release 2 singles last year before the release of the debut EP "Sent From Hell" this summer. The band are quoted as describing the debut EP as "a wild and raw rock n' roll debut about sin, sex and damnation". So, let's take a look at a few songs from the album.

"Sold My Soul" is the opening track on the EP. Its cries out probably what most of metal heads dream of when we first fall in love with metal music, "I wanna be in a rock n roll band!" A fine opening to the EP sure to get your hair swinging. "On Your Back" is song number 3 and is 3 minutes 51 seconds of sin in a song. Its provocative and descriptive leaving very little to the imagination. I'd say it's one of the highlights of the EP and is worth a spin. "Head First Into Hell" is another fine song that shows some mean guitar riffs and powerful vocals to match. "Get Back (To Fuckwit City) (Live)" is a song that also pops out on the EP and is one not to miss. It directs you where you should go & is as fun to listen to as the song title is to read. Another good track to listen out for is the final track "Down In The Gutter" which is also a live recorded song from the EP being one of 4 live tracks. Its wild trashy and a little bit flashy! I'd recommend you give it a whirl on your CD player.

 In my opinion, the band are still in their early days but show potential as a Rock n' Roll Metal band who have more to bring to the table. I will look forward to seeing what the future holds for the band. The debut EP "Sent From Hell" is a good first effort and is worth a listen if you are a fan of Rock n Roll Metal and Metal from the Australian scene. They are a band who have bigger places to go than just pubs and clubs! The band AVALANCHE has stepped onto the scene with a big foot print and they have the vocals and instrument playing to back it up so we shall see what the next few years brings us from the still new band. Time will tell and until that time comes, I recommend you give the album a try.
