Antropomorphia - Evangelivm Nekromantia album cover

ANTROPOMORPHIA is a Dutch Death Metal; they have been active since 1989, releasing several demos, one of them being called "Necromantic Love Songs", until releasing their debut album "Pure" in 1998. Now in 2012 they release their sophomore album called "Evangelivm Nekromantia".

With this album ANTROPOMORPHIA promises to deliver "a new sort of disturbing Death Metal darkness exceeding most of the one-dimensional releases you got to hear most of these days!", with such a bold statement one wonders: "Do they deliver in their promise?" and the answer would be "No, they don't", which is not to say that this is a bad album, it is quite enjoyable at times, but the songs tend to feel a bit boring and uninspired after a while, almost sounding like is the same riff over and over again. A big problem I had with this record was the production that buried the vocals deep into the songs, which made it sound inaudible at times.

This isn't an album I would rush to buy it or that has inspired me to look up more about this band, in fact this is not even an album I would recommend to anyone I know, the problem was that when they build your expectations that high and deliver an album that is so boring and repetitive, you can't help but feel that you have been let down.
