Angus McSix and the All-Seeing Astral Eye
Angus McSix

On the EPK it states: ANGUS McSIX rise from the aftermath of previous heroic battles with "Angus McSix and the All-Seeing Astral Eye", out March 13, 2026 via Napalm Records. Following the chart-storming debut ("Angus McSix and the Sword of Power" instantly rose to the top 10 of the German Album charts in 2023), Angus' brother, Adam McSix (Sam Nyman of MANIMAL), now steps forth as the main character and lead singer. Also adding the brute force of new guitarist, The Dwarf (Jasmin Pabst) besides guitar Amazon Thalestris (Thalia Belazecca, PRIMAL FEAR), the power metal supergroup is thrilled for new adventures, one being to save the legendary hero Angus from his cruel fate of being frozen in an ice block prison in which his nemesis, the Archdemon Seebulon (Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann, ORDEN OGAN), trapped him. ANGUS McSIX embark on their absurd journey wielding the power of metal and a tongue-in-cheek attitude as their mighty weapons!
Okay, now we know where we stand, don't we. Because there is no escaping the fact that ANGUS McSIX is using all the cliches that the Power Metal and Heavy Metal have produced in the last fifty years and formed them into songs that are as much Happy Metal as they are Power Metal. And even though it's not my favourite musical genre, I can't but help to admit that what you get to hear on "Angus McSix and the All-Seeing Astral Eye" is rather pleasant for many ears, as it is very catchy and for some absolutely addictive. Plus, this really is instant music. You can predict what the band is going to play and sing along from the very first time you put on this album. That does mean that live shows will be a very happy occasion, but also that the Spotify generation will be able to pick out their favourite songs very early on.
Is "Angus McSix and the All-Seeing Astral Eye" a good album? Well, it is a decent one, but that is also where it ends for me. What ANGUS McSIX are bringing on this album is just a bit too microwave ready for me. There are no surprises, no extra excitement. Don't get me wrong, what you get is good listening material, but for me it is Happy Bubblegum Metal. And that is because is doesn't stick, it doesn't excite. And with all due respect, it doesn't matter which guests you have to help you along, the result stays the same.
