A debut record that has taken ten years in the making, "Elan Vital" can also be described as a coming of age event for both  Andy Wit and his self fronted, self conducted and self created band, ANCHILLYS; a one man band from Holland that displays a musical quality that can very well and easily make you think that there are actually five individuals behind this opera prima and not just one seemingly virtuoso composer and interpreter. With quite the long background as a seasoned and experienced musician, Andy Wit admits discovering a a new will to live when deciding to take up on all the knowledge needed to produce and release  his own album and he surely did master his craft in a high leveled manner.

First of all, after being able to review this record with the anticipation of it being premiered 24 hours after i could start making an argument about it since it had never been released to the world before and i could start typing this review I can say that I was lucky enough to be part of the worldwide premiere of this album in real time and in assurance of witnessing Technical Death Metal on the making, I can only hope for the opportunity to see this album performed live in the near future. I just have to say that I love the names of the tracks and how they are established and if that is not enough to set a mood for the whole record before you even begin to listen to it, then let me just tell you that the end of the album will only leave you wanting for more in an unprecedented way for a musical work such as "Elan Vital".

The fact that Technical Death Metal is being spread into the world with a record as "Elan Vital" allows for all of us who love the genre to fill part of the evolution of music in all of its different slopes and derivations and each song develops each of its elements to become a memorable work of modern art "Dirt and Essence" is finally the video to watch, I really can´t tell if Andy Wit is playing all the instruments as well as singing, but it sure as hell looks like it, so if you ever complained about needing other people to release your record, this is the living proof that you only need your own self to reach that goal, Blown away by the overwhelming passion of this one man band, i am left in expectation for this band´s second album,  hoping against all hope, that it will not take as long as "Elan Vital".
