Greece, deemed the birthplace of western civilization is showing that, besides to making Democracy, the Olympic Games and the Philosophy, they can make excellent bands like ROTTING CHRIST and FIREWIND. And I'm here listening a band called ALPHASTATE they're debuting your first album called "Out Of The Black" in November. They formed a band in Athens in April 2014 mixing the 80's elements with the modern sound in Heavy Metal. Let's see they're got it.

The artwork is excellent and it's a cliché in this style - but that doesn't mean it's a bad art.

The line-up is professional and excellent musicians. The guitars are balanced - they make a heavy sound when needs and the solos are cleaner to listen all the notes played by Pete Breaker. The bass and the drums - the kitchen are the think the band needs: put a lot of weight of the band and fill the spaces when the guitarist is soling. The vocals from Xanthakis is decent but it doesn't show anything different or anything to make a difference and to detect him immediately - yet he's the front act.

The highlights in this album are the tracks: "Last Day", "Great Divide", "Worlds Control" - a beautiful ballad - and "Only Chance". The sound is all the same - goods line-up making a genuine Heavy Metal, with a singer that is very similar than Bruce Dickinson style - the IRON MAIDEN frontman. The songs are good read, but it's all-the-same song kind of deal.

They make a balanced work mixing elements did by bands like IRON MAIDEN or OZZY OSBOURNE and they do/did in their works with the new elements, like they told, but unfortunately, it's not the surprise element that shines in the successful band; this is the important in the bands. To make a good sound this isn't enough; you can listen hundreds of bands playing good beats and all-the-same formula practising by the giant bands like IRON MAIDEN, PANTERA and etc. It's important have influences but you have to show different elements that make your work stand out of the rest. Unfortunately, I didn't hear that in ALPHASTATE sounds.
