Alfred Rock Hernandez - Evolution album cover

The Glam Metal commercial success in the 80's (back then the genre was merely called Hard Rock, of Californian hard Rock due the great number of bands from the state) helped to spread the musical genre to all the world, and it reached (and influenced) a countless number of musicians and bands. So it's not something unexpected to hear this genre pulsing on the songs of "Evolution", the solo album from Mexican composer and singer ALFRED ROCK HERNANDEZ. On the album, the most pure Glam Metal/Hard Rock with traditional Heavy Metal one can find, with the same elements that can be found on bands as SCORPIONS, WHITESNAKE, MÖTLEY CRÜE and GUNS N' ROSES, as hooking melodies that are easy to like, excellent choruses, and everything all, but in a way that sounds alive and fresh, full of energy and really catching.

The album's sonority isn't 100% fitting on the work, because there's a rough feeling that isn't a feature of the genre. But the sonority isn't bad; it's just not perfect as the genre needs to be. The instrumental tunes are very good, and everything can be understood without efforts. Nine very good songs are presented on "Evolution" (that was released physically on 2016, but only now becomes digitally distributed on the due musical internet platforms), but the catchy and vibrating energy that pulses from "Colisión" (Very good vocals and guitars), the charming melodies of "Tears in Your Eyes" (the vocals are so good, but the Mexico Spanish accent can be noted by the listeners, a thing that must be corrected in the future), the deeper and full of emotions approach of "Déjame Sentir", the accessible melodic outfit of "Distante como el Viento" and of "Change", and the ballad-like song (not a full time ballad, please) with a massive chorus called "Eternos al Fin" are the album's best moments for a first time.

It's obvious that Alfred can make a better production on the next time, but his musical potential is amazing. So hear "Evolution" and enjoy it as many as you can!
